Mangalore: Man arrested at airport for tampering with passport

Mangalore, Jan 24: Immigration officers of Mangalore International Airport on Wednesday January 23 arrested a passenger who was attempting to fly to Dubai by attesting his photo on somebody else’s passport.

The arrested is identified as Ibrahim (47) from Pallakode in Kasargod. He was handed over to Bajpe police for further investigation.

As per the information obtained, Ibrahim attested his photo in the passport belonging to one Ismail. He was arrested on Wednesday morning ahead of the flight to Dubai.

A case has been registered in the Bajpe police station.

    It is better on the part of Immigration and Passport control authority to withdraw all previously issued passports with photographs pasted and replace them with new type. This can avoid tampering with photographs.
