Udupi: Central review committee praises Belapu gram panchayat

Udupi, Jan 25: The central review committee visited to review the rural development and economic empowerment of Belapu village, which is a role model for the state in terms of economic empowerment and rural development. 

C V Balamurali and Preetham Ponappanavar  of Centre for Rural Management (CRM) visited to Belapu village and were impressed after witnessing the systemized documents of the village.

The team visited to review the central governments panchayat empowerment programme, different awards and distribution of grants, different gram panchayat with indication of state government. Belapu gram panchayat was selected from the Udupi ZP.

The team encouraged the panchayat to undertake more developmental works in collaboration with private bodies. The review team was satisfied with the working of the mini vidhana, disposal of solid waste, housing site agglomeration mainly for Yoga Kshema’s established naturopathy hospital.

On this occasion, they informed the panchayat of the central government rewards.

Gram panchayat president Deviprasad Shetty, vice president Prakash Rao, member Khalid Hammed, PDO Appu Sherigar, ZP officer Udaya Kumar Shetty were present on this occasion.
