Lupin Q3 profit rises 43 percent to Rs.335 crore


New Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS): Pharma company Lupin Thursday reported a 42.57 percent rise in net profit to Rs.335.20 crore for the third quarter ended Dec 31, 2012, on the back of strong sales in the US market.

The drug maker had posted a net profit of Rs.235.10 crore during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

The consolidated net sales of the company rose by 37.6 percent to Rs.2,465.90 crore during the third quarter, as against Rs.1,791.70 crore during the like period of 2011-12 fiscal, the Mumbai-based firm said in a statement.

"We had a record quarter driven by strong operating performance and growth in the US. Importantly, we continue to improve on margins consistently," said Managing Director Kamal K Sharma.
