Ashok Leyland logs 3 percent volume growth in January


Chennai, Feb 2 (IANS): Boosted by its light commercial vehicles (LCV) sales, city-based Ashok Leyland Ltd closed January with a marginal three percent growth in sales as compared to sales in the same month last year.

In a statement issued here Saturday, the company said it closed last month selling 10,561 units (heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs)-6,863 units, LCV Dost-3,698 units) as against 10,300 units (HCV-9,200 units, LCV Dost-1,100 units) sold during January 2012.

According to the company, the cumulative sales for the current fiscal at the end of last month is 90,546 units (HCV-62,955 units, LCV Dost-27,591 units) as against 76,621 units (HCV-72,821 units, LCV-Dost-3,800 units).
