M'lore: Bearys Welfare Forum-Abu Dhabi meets Rehman Khan

Mangalore, Feb 5: Mohamed Ali Uchil, president, Bearys Welfare Forum - Abu Dhabi, and a delegation of community leaders met Rehman Khan, minister for minority affairs, government of India at Mangalore, and urged to direct Karnataka government to simplify the process of obtaining seats in professional colleges for non-resident Indians of the south Indian state.

In a memorandum forwarded to the authorities concerned through former Karnataka education minister and Congress leader B A Mohideen, the Forum demanded them to ease the eligibility for government seats for the children of Karnataka based NRIs in such colleges. The memorandum also explained the current difficulties faced by the NRIs for their wards.
 
Y Abdulla Kunhi, Hyder Parthipady, T M Shaeed, Mumtaj Ali Krishnapur,S M Rasheed Haji, Ahmed Bava Haji and other community leaders were present during the meeting.
