Udupi, Feb 7: The policemen of Kerala crime branch visited Muloor village near Kaup in the district on Wednesday February 6 to conduct investigation about a person from the Gulf region, who has been accused of sending fake Indian currency notes from Dubai by air. The person, whose house was searched, has been identified as Moidinabba, presently living in Dubai.

It is learnt that a few months back, the Kerala police had recovered fake currency notes worth Rs 31 lac dispatched through air, at Kozhikode airport. A person was also was arrested, and during his interrogation, the name of Moidinabba, who has been accused of playing an important role in this transaction, surfaced.

It is gathered that the policemen visited the banks and checked Moidinabba’s accounts there. They also went to the gram panchayat office to collect further details. The search at the spacious bungalow belonging to Moidinabba at Muloor by the side of national highway went on till afternoon. It is said that the visiting team came to know that Moidinabba had sold his house in Muloor to a close relative.

The Kerala police, who then visited the district headquarters, refused to reveal anything else other than that the investigation relating to circulating fake currency notes in the country through Dubai. Kerala crime branch circle police inspector, T N Paramachandran, sub inspector Thomas, Ravindran, and others were in the team.
