Abu Dhabi, Feb 7 : Mohamed Ali Uchil, President Bearys Welfare Forum-Abu Dhabi and a delegation of Community leaders has met Rahaman Khan, Minister for Minority Affairs, Govt.Of India at Mangalore, and urged to direct Karnataka government to simplify the process of obtaining seats in professional colleges for Non-resident Indians of south Indian state.
In a memorandum forwarded to the authorities concerned through former Karnataka education minister and Congress leader B A Mohideen, the Forum demanded them to ease the eligibility for government seats for the children of Karnataka based NRIs in such colleges. The memorandum also explained the current difficulties faced by the NRIs for their wards.
Mr.Y.Abdulla Kunhi,Hyder Parthipady, T.M.Shaeed,Mumtaj Ali Krishnapur,S.M. Rasheed Haji, Ahmed Bava Haji and other community leaders were present on the meeting.
