UAE camel racing group bans doping

Abu Dhabi, Feb 12 (IANS/WAM): Camel owners may not by any means use any performance-enhancing drugs, whether natural or synthesized, in their racing camels, says a new resolution by the UAE Camel Racing Association.

The penalties for violation of the ban include cancellation of scores by the doping camel, forfeiture of any prizes won by the owner, and a one-year suspension for the camel.

In case of a repeat, all camels owned by the violator will be suspended for one year in addition to publicising the penalty at racecourses.
