Udupi, Feb 12: Lourdes feast was celebrated at Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva here on Monday February 11 with much joy and fanfare.
The Mass at Irmiz Church, Padav began at 6.15. After the mass, a procession accompanied by brass band was taken across Shirva town junction to the Church.
Over 2,000 devotees participated in the procession with lit candles in their hand. The main attraction of the procession was two tableaux of Mother Mary. On the route of the procession, residents and shop-keepers of Shirva lit candles.
As the procession reached near Shirva Church Grotto, sacrament blessing was performed.
Fr Cyprian Pinto, parish priest, Udyavar Church was the main celebrant. Fr Stany Tauro, parish priest, Fr Naveen, assistant parish priest, Fr Gratian, assistant parish priest, and Fr Maxim were also present.
