Udupi, Feb 13: A rally was organized on Tuesday February 12 from Taluk office to Rajangana (Krishna Math) to welcome Sunitha Lobo, who was a part of the girls’ floor hockey team which won the gold medal in the Special Olympics World Winter Games in PyeongChang in South Korea recently.

She was also felicitated by Sri Vishwavallabha Teertha Swami of Sode Math. During the felicitation, the Swami said that no one in this world is disabled or unworthy and every plant and every animal is born with some responsibility.

“Where there is a will, there is always a way, but effort is important. Sunitha had will and wish and so she earned the gold medal. Udupi is proud of her. We are happy that in the land of Krishna a girl achieved such a big victory. Let Sunitha be the inspiration for the other students,” he added.

Gokul Das Nayak (CMC commissioner) also felicitated Lobo and said that being a special child, today she was special and well-known.
