Sharjah, Feb 13 (IANS/WAM): Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah in the UAE, has issued new laws on preserving water and maintaining hygiene in the emirate.
The law on water is aimed at regulating and rationalising consumption of water to ensure sustainability as well as prevent depletion and waste of water resources.
The law on hygiene aims to preserve the environment, public health and contribute to sustainable development.
It also aims to maintain the aesthetic and cultural appearance of Sharjah, and ensure that waste is disposed through processing in scientific ways.
The law prohibits people to throw or dispose any type of waste and residue on fields, roads or sidewalks, beaches, rooftops and other places, whether public or private.
