Daijiworld Media Network – Shimoga (SP)

Shimoga, Feb 13: Two bodies were found from a room in a lodge located at Nehru Road here, on Tuesday February 12 morning. It appears that one of the two was killed, and the other committed suicide.

The deceased are Ramesh (40) and Prasad (45), both from Choorikatte in Sagar taluk in the district. Both of them were carpenters by profession, and used to rent rooms in this lodge for some days during their frequent visits to the town. Body of Prasad was found on the bed, while that of Ramesh, was found hanging.

Both of them had hired the room on January 27. On Monday night, they had reached their room after supper. The staff of the lodge, observing that the duo had not come out of their room even at 9 am on Tuesday, peeped through the window, and saw that Ramesh’s body was hanging from the ceiling.

After the news was conveyed to Kote police station here, the policemen opened the door. Marks on Prasad’s neck gave clue that he had been smothered to death. The policemen suspect that Ramesh, after murdering Prasad, hanged himself.

The policemen registered a case and took up investigation.
