Yes, Lobomam....No present politicians can be matched with Late Ullal Srinivas mallya,MP regarding contributions to erstwhile DK dist.He worked for the people for the coastal Karnataka selflessly. He was not a KHADAK KHADIDAARI like present politicians but made land mark achievements here.Just look at the situation ...inspite of having emminent politicians here we could not get Constitutional status for TULU language yet.Late Ullal Srinivas Mallya and Sri George Fernandes have made Udupi/DK people proud.

Fri, Feb 15 2013Dr V. S. Acharya, whom I knew over 6 decades who belonged to an orthodox family, did medical course, joined RSS and grown as an acceptable leader for all community.
During his tenure he helped the needy people and one developement in Udupi like widening the Kalsanka-Manipal road which was neglected due to politics done by his lone efforts. He was very helpful man for Tulu-Kannadiga's even outside Karnataka always came forward to help them to build educational Institutes and cultural centres.A great man with concern to progress and with vision!

Thu, Feb 14 2013VS acharya is a distinguishable and rare politician in the history of Karnataka. His contributions are huge to our districts in a short span of time.
Govt has already started a scheme that helps poor people in state (sorry I dont know the name). Udupi KSRTC bus stand has been named VSA bus stand. Administartion Center in Mysore in his name is a great honor to him.
Along with statue, name one road in Udupi to VS Acharya road.
