USA : ICA Carnival at Michigan - a grand event

Michigan, Feb 14: Over a 200 members and friends of ICA, India Catholic Association in Detroit Metro Area stepped away from their homes recently, to take part in a groundbreaking event of Carnival Celebrations.

ICA Carnival had everything that a fun loving member of the association looked forward for. The evening started with mass by Fr. Succoro Fernandes and Fr. Kishore in St. Valentine’s Church, Redford, Michigan. The mass was followed by a Carnival dinner party at the St. Valentine’s school gym. The Carnival had Creative Games and Prizes, Face painting, Cotton Candy, Dancing, varieties of Dosas, Chaat, Idilis, Biriyani, and lot of desserts to make a most enjoyable event to begin the year.



















The event was chaired By Denver and Brenda Pinto, with other inspiring members like Donald and Lesley Tauro, Stephen and Sonia Fernandes, Asha and Carlyle Carvalho, Nayana and John Lynn, Lavo and Blen Cardoza and Rose and David Da Costa and ably supported by the Execute committee members Teena and Aditya Ayyagari, Urban and Joan De Souza and Cyril and Maryna Miranda to make a best event with beautiful promotions that they were passionate about.


ICA hopes to continue growing the magnitude of this most successful Carnival Event for the years to come. All the members of ICA shared their spirit of joy with this event and it encouraged the attendees to challenge themselves to a higher standard of volunteer work for ICA. The video presentations struck a chord with all members and perhaps it would make all of ICA feel, “a new sense of purpose towards the events and motivated to do more than just get the job done”.

Current ICA President, Teena Ayyagari says “ICA Carnival was just a glimmer in every fun loving member’s eyes in last few years, now with the support from our talented members, we felt compelled to make it a reality. We are grateful to all our volunteers for their contribution. Also it was nice to beat our Michigan cold weather to have fun at Carnival celebrations with warm colors and friends”. The other members of current ICA Executive Committee comprises of three energetic and enthusiastic persons by vice-president - Urban De Souza, treasurer - Maryna Miranda, and secretary - Bernie D’Souza and they are supporting the organization goals and vision for the year 2013.

ICA Executive committee wants to create a campaign that would grow their community’s passion and help increase members to become more active volunteers in sharing the joy of high quality event production for everyone in Detroit Metro Area.
