If India cannot start to control the rampant and blatant corruption that exists today, in every facet of government and life, then we can forget about ever becoming a world power or force to be reckoned with on the global stage. We will be nothing more than a banana republic.

Wrong, the deal was inked in February 2010. Although Brajesh Mishra proposed the change in height spec. (suposedly, to include more choices )the RFP was finalized during congress rule and 3 companies were eligible. The later tests which had been cleared due to bribes and signing of the deal happend during Congress.
Plus even if NDA was involved Congress should have been proactive in starting inquiries when the reports came a year back.

Former defense minister and senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh came to the rescue Mr,.Tyagi, saying that “Aye papadaye…dala gottijji” and says” "We should not make allegations against each other" till the truth is known. He admitted that the required parameters in the tender were changed during the NDA rule. (May be for the purpose of helping Italian firm!!!!) Why NDA has placed order for VVIP helicopters in 2001 when our common people are struggling to get their daily bread?
