Raja seeks permission to depose before JPC

New Delhi, Feb 23 (IANS): Former Telecom Minister A. Raja has sought Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar's permission to depose before the joint parliamentary committee (JPC) examining the 2G spectrum issue, sources close to him said Saturday.

Raja handed over a letter to Meira Kumar Friday seeking her permission to depose before the JPC, sources close to Raja said.

The 2G spectrum scam involved the sale in 2008 of telecommunications bandwidth at allegedly understated prices.

The sale occurred when Raja headed the telecommunications and IT ministry.
