Bangalore couple, 2 Nigerians held for selling fake cancer drugs

Bangalore, Feb 25 (PTI): An Indian couple and two Nigerian nationals have been arrested for selling a senior citizen fake drugs for nearly Rs 12 lakh claiming it could cure cancer.

The four approached the senior citizen through e-mail and lured him into believing that he can earn big money by selling the "drug" which was "pieces of wood mixed with hair-dye". They collected Rs 11,95,000 from him, police said here.

The Central Crime Branch (Women and Narcotics) squad arrested Revathi (20), her husband Muralidharan (22), both residents of Bangalore, along with Arebamen Abibu Obadan (35) and Joseph Nnamdi Emeanuwa (32), they said.

The squad seized three laptops, as many mobile phones, a car and other valuables that the accused bought with the money.

During investigation it came to light that the two Nigerians were overstaying in the country, as their visa had expired and had not been renewed. A local court has remanded the four in judicial custody.

A search is on for the fifth accused and foreign national Mark Hebert who is absconding, police said.

Heading should have been TAMIL COUPLE, ALONG WITH 2 NIGERIANS HELD IN B'LORE for selling fake cancer drugs.
Friends, we are not opening our eyes to what is happening. Nigerians are criminals and equal number of Tamils are. When they both get together, it is difficult to find, who is who. Come to this place called Kalyan Nagar in B'lore and see. It is a Tamil populated area where also these Nigerians prefer to settle for safety. Both should be kicked out. See the number of Tamils moving into Mangalore now. Think, if we don't deal with them now, it is going to be very difficult in the future. They also lie their identity to be a Kannadiga like they were fooling all Bangaloreans till now.......

These people are very famous in Mumbai and are spread out all over with some pockets of concentration mostly as students!! Very difficult to trust them as most of them are involved in shady activities!! Along with their ability to speak good English and self confidence, the most amazing thing is their physical prowess. Even the toughest of police personnel are afraid to go near them as one of them is equal to 5 of us!! Just day before I read a police party in Mumbai had a tough time arresting two of these criminals and with one kick from one of them the entire car door came off!! Amazing people but using their strong attributes for illegal activities for whatever reason!! Best not to get into any business with these guys!!

We are about 40,000 Indians working here in Nigeria. Don't think that Nigeria is a poor country. The oil/gas they have is similar to middle east. but, it's with 25% people. Government is dumb, doing nothing for the people. The situation made Nigerians play foul games. Be careful while dealing with Nigerians because they speak fluent English. For all your information, they don't produce anything here, in fact their currency is printed and imported from outside.
