Udupi: Rangamane honorary felicitation for writer Vaidehi

Udupi, Feb 26: Rangamane Samskrithika Kalakendra of Sullia, known for its cultural theater performances in the state, will present its annual theater honorary felicitation to Kendra Sahitya Academy Prize winning writer Vaidehi, who has contributed to the field of children’s theater through her work.

Rangamane Samskrithika Kalakendra will also confer its felicitations on 22 eminent personalities like Sadhanada Suvarna, Chidhama Rao Jambe, BR Venkataraman Aithal, Mandiya Ramesh, veteran artist Subhadramma Mansooru, H G Somashekar Rao, K Anand Ganiga, and writer Niranjan Vanahalli for their service in the field of theater.

Vaidehi’s works like ‘Dham Dhoom Suntaragali’, ‘Mookana Makkalu’, ‘Gombe Macbeth’, ‘Danadangura’, ‘Nayimari Nataka’, ‘Kotu Gumma’, ‘Jhum Jham Aane Mathu Putta’, ‘Surya Banda’, ‘Ardhachandra Mitayi’, ‘Hakki Haadu’, and ‘Somari Olya’ are several children’s dramas that have seen many performances in different places across the country and made a special record in theater plays.

“On this occasion, senior singer Chandrashekar Kedilya Brahmvar will present a special orchestra called ‘Jnanaganamrutha’ and Alva’s Deemkita Yakshagana study center will present its Yakshagana show. Dr M Mohan Alva will confer the Rangamane honorary felicitation on Vaidehi,” said Jeevanram Sullia, director of Rangamane.
