Somwarpet (Kodagu dist), Feb 28 (DHNS): A petrol bomb was found under the seat of a KSRTC bus parked at the bus stand in the town on Wednesday.
The bus had halted in the bus stand at 4 pm on its way from Harihar to Madikeri. It is suspected that someone who got into the vehicle when it was parked or when it was on its way to the town may have placed the bomb and lit the wick.
Santosh, who was on his way to Igur village in the bus, smelt agarbathi fragrance in the bus. Soon, he informed the conductor.
The police rushed to the spot and seized two beer bottles filled with petrol and the cardboard box containing them. There were around 15 persons in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Anuchet and DySP Paul S Varma visited the spot in the evening.
