Mangalore, Mar 4: “Janardhan Poojary has been misleading the minority people, especially in the Kudroli area by saying that if they vote for JD(S), simultaneously BJP will gain majority and win in the next election,” said D M Aslam, leader, JD(S).

He was speaking at a press meet held in Hotel Woodlands on Monday March 4.

“Poojary has been unnecessarily trying to create a bad image for the JD(S) through negative publicity. The Congress Mayor along with BJP deputy Mayor and office-bearers ruled the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) for over a year and simply wasted their time doing nothing. Last time, the JD(S) candidate of Kudroli ward won the election with a huge difference of nearly 700 votes. This time, to distract the people’s minds, Poojary has been playing this kind of foul and cheap politics,” added Aslam.

“Asking for votes by showing and pointing at the development that you have done, but not by others is dirty politics. The people of our city are fed up of the Congress and BJP rule and are directly firing on these two parties. This year the JD(S) is confident of winning nearly 25 seats in the upcoming corporation elections,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Azeez Kudroli said that the competition in Kudroli ward is between JD(S) and Congress, hence the BJP has nothing to do with it. “Congress is ashamed to speak directly about the matter, hence it is trying to mislead the people by fake facts and figures,” he added.

Leaders including Elias Sanctis and Iqbal Ahmed were present.

Janardhan Poojary lambasts BJP, says Cong will expose Advani

Mangalore, Mar 4: “The BJP has been pressuring the election commission and the police over matters related to election campaigns by means of ‘Padayatre’ and open speeches at different places,” said Congress leader Janardhan Poojary.

He was speaking at a press meet held at the Press Club on Monday March 4 at 3 pm.

“The administration level in the BJP has been getting worse. The BJP leaders have called the Congress leaders termites, but BJP has to be ashamed to call a party which worked for Indian Independence by derogatory names.

The BJP has lit a communal fire in our city and state. Communal harmony and peace have been totally destroyed by the BJP for its selfish needs,” accused Poojary.

“Advani has called Sonia Gandhi ‘cross breed’. We know the true color and background of Advani, but are waiting for a chance to make it public. If we get that chance, we will be doing it with all the proof and evidence and Poojary will be the first to undertake a personal attack on them,” he added.

“But by voting for the JD(S), the BJP will be strengthened as it is the Congress votes that get diverted towards the JD(S), hence making way for the BJP to rule over the city and the state. Please vote wisely and never let such an old, unwanted administration get back in the district and state,” he said.
Kallige Tharanath Shetty, Harikrishna Bantwal, Arun Coelho, and Purandara Das Kulur were present.

Sadananda Gowda visits Pandeshwar

Former state chief minister and veteran BJP leader Sadananda Gowda visited the 46th Cantonment ward and requested votes for their candidate Diwakar Pandeshwara on Monday March 4.

He walked all through the constituency along with other BJP leaders and workers. The walk began from Pandeshwara Katte and went all the way towards Police Lane and returned back through the RTO.

A large number of people followed their leaders and lent their support to the party and its candidate. Gowda himself visited a few shops and houses and sought support for their candidate and asked people to help him win with a huge majority.

Speaking to the media, Sadananda Gowda said that the Congress Party was divided heavily. “There has been a lot of groupism inside as it is quite visible to the general public in all ways. BJP has had great concern towards the public and worked accordingly. Hence, I urge the people to vote for the party and make it rule the city for another term,” he added.

Leaders like Padmanabh Kottari, Srikar Prabhu, Nithin Kumar, Devdas Pandeshwar, and Santosh Kumar Rai Boliyar were present.
