Udupi, Mar 6: Tenkutittu senior artiste Sanjeeva Rai Kanchan passed away on Tuesday March 5.

He performed as part of Subramanya, Puttur, Mangaladevi, Nandavara, Kadri, Aruva, Suratkal and Venur Melas for over 47 years.

He played lead roles and is famous for his roles of Koti, Vishnu, Krishna, Devupoonja, Dharmaraya and Arjuna.

He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.

Yakshagana Kalaranga president Talluru Shivarama Shetty, secretary Murali Kadekar and many Yakshagana artistes offered condolences.
