Chanel goes for neutral tones

Paris, March 7 (IANS/EFE): Chanel unveiled a ready-to-wear 2013 fall-winter collection at Paris Fashion Week dominated by neutral tones, while Valentino meticulously explored all that the colour palette has to offer.

Karl Lagerfeld's creations for Chanel wound their way around a giant globe, reflecting the design house's presence around the world at the Grand Palais in Paris.

Boots allowed little leg to show on models wearing garments that ranged from gray to black, with touches of pink and Klein blue, a deep blue, and splashes of orange, red and yellow.

Actresses Milla Jovovich and Jessica Chastain, Princess Caroline of Monaco and singer and actress Vanessa Paradis attended the show.

Valentino, for his part, paid homage to Flemish art with a delicate ready-to-wear collection that featured lush colours, embroidery and flowers.
