Six die in Pakistan mosque bombing


Islamabad, Mar 9 (IANS): At least six people were killed and 28 injured when a massive explosion tore through a mosque in a densely populated area of Peshawar, a media report said.

Six people were killed the explosion inside the mosque, Superintendent of Police, Peshawar city, Khalid Hamdani said.

Over 28 people were also injured in the blast that took place inside the Ganj Ali Khan mosque near the city's Shaheen bazaar, reported Dawn.

Geo TV reported that rescue workers and police rushed the injured to Lady Reading Hospital, where an emergency has been declared.

A police official said explosive material weighing around three to four kilogram and containing ball-bearings was planted inside the mosque.
