Child killed in Pakistan bomb blast


Islamabad, Mar 10 (IANS): A child was killed Sunday in a bomb blast in Pakistan's northwest tribal region, a media report said.

Security officials said the bomb was planted by the side of a wall of a house in Ashraf Khel area of Landi Kotal, the main town in Khyber Agency along the border with Afghanistan, Xinhua reported.

The bomb was detonated with a time device and killed the child playing in the street.

The house was partially damaged and panic spread among the local residents.

No other people were injured in the blast.

Security forces later cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for the attackers.
