Woman raped in moving car in Delhi


New Delhi, Mar 11 (IANS): A 35-year-old married woman was abducted and raped in a moving car by five people, including some known to her, here Sunday, police said.

According to police, the woman was abducted outside the Akshardham temple in east Delhi at around 9 a.m. and found unconscious outside the Pragati Maidan metro station in central Delhi at around 10.15 a.m.

People found spotted the woman lying outside the station and informed police, who reached the spot and took the women to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

A medical examination confirmed rape, a police officer said, adding the woman had given a statement saying some of the people who abducted and raped her were known.

Investigations are on and a hunt is on for the accused, police said.
