Bantwal: Lorry driver dies of cardiac arrest

Bantwal, Mar 13: A lorry driver died of cardiac arrest while on duty near Sornad on Tuesday March 12.

The deceased, identified as Joseph Lobo, resident of Panjikallu gram Somadu, worked as a driver of Subash’s lorry.

His death came to light when the tipper lorry which was loaded with mud started moving backwards. Yaqoob who was in the lorry immediately screamed for help. Another labourer, Veeresh, immediately placed a wooden block stopper and brought the vehicle to a halt.

It is learnt that driver Joseph was found lying unconscious in the seat. Cardiac arrest is said to have caused his death.

Bantwal rural police have registered a case in this regard.
