Nine militants killed in Afghanistan


Kabul, March 24 (IANS): Up to nine Taliban militants have been killed and 17 wounded in a series of military operations, Xinhua reported.

The Afghan National Police (ANP), supported by army and the NATO-led forces, conducted operations in Kunar, Badakhshan and Nimroz provinces, killing the nine, the interior ministry said.

The ANP also seized weapons.

On Saturday, four children were killed and two wounded when a roadside bomb went off in southern province of Kandahar.
