Udupi: K L Kundathaya to be felicitated on Mar 31

Udupi, Mar 31: For the immense services to the temple, folk art, Yakshagana, literature, culture, religion, and various other fields, K L Kundathaya will be honoured during a public felicitation programme to be held at Sri Durga Temple in Kunjur on Sunday March 31.

The programme will be presided over by Harikrishna Punaroor, president, Karnataka Sahitya Parishat, and B V Acharya, former advocate general of Karnataka government, will be the chief guest while Vasudev Asranna, head of Kateel temple, will bless the occasion.

National thinker and orator Chakravarthi Solibele will give the keynote address.  Mohan Alva of Alva’s Education Trust will give the greeting message and language scientist Dr U P Upadhyay will congratulate K L Kundathaya.

On the occasion Dr Y N Shetty, Padubidri, will speak on Kundathaya’s contribution to folk art. Dr Janardhan Bhat Belman will speak on his literary services while Bannanje Sanjeev Suvarna will speak about his contribution to Yakshagana.

Y Prafulla Shetty Yelluruguttu, president, Yellur temple executive committee, Devraj Rao Nadimane, president, Kunjuru temple, N Madhwaraya Bhat, president, Nandikooru temple,  and Ranganath Bhat, president, Kalathooru temple, will be present on the occasion.

The programme is being organized under the guidance of Kenja Sridar Thantri, president, award committee, K P Acharya Kapu, Yernal Uday K Shetty, Deviprasad Shetty Belapu, and Devraj Rao Nadimane stated a press release by award committee secretary Kuthyaru Prasad Shetty.
