Upset over harassment, 14-yr-old girl ends life


Kanpur, Apr 11 (PTI): A 14-year-old girl allegedly set herself ablaze as she was upset over harassment by a man in her colony, police said today. The victim was being harassed over several months by Ravi, who also used to send her obscene messages, police said.

Her relatives had complained to Ravi's family members several times, they said. Last night, Ravi's relatives visited the victim's house and made several allegations against her. Upset over this, the girl locked herself up in her room and set herself ablaze, they said.

Hearing her screams, neighbours and family members broke down the door but till then the girl had succumbed, they said. On a complaint by the victim's parents, police have lodged na case against Ravi and his parents. Meanwhile, another 14-year-old girl, who was reportedly undergoing treatment for mental disorder, cut her wrist and then hanged herself, police said.

    Very Sad

    i feel lack of police force.

    Especially in India required every 10 Km at least one police team.

    To save innocent life.

    There are number of youngster waiting for police job. But govt don’t have fund to create more jobs in police force. Because there is no such team for control fund.
