M’lore: St Joseph Engineering College leads at intercollegiate fests

Mangalore, Apr 13: The students from the Departments of BE, MBA, MCA of St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore have actively participated  at ‘Sentia 2013’  an annual state level inter-collegiate cultural, technical and management fest conducted by Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering, Moodabidri, recently.

The fest was inaugurated by professor N R Shetty, former VC, Bangalore University. All in all 2200 students from 62 colleges across the state participated in the fest which comprised of 64 events for  BE students under 15 broad categories namely: crema, literary, quizzing, ecarte dance, opera musical, gaming, battle of bands, fashion show, fresco art events, theatre events, 4 a side football, daily events, technical - CSE, technical – mechanical and technical - ECE.

St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore won the overall championship.

The MCA department of St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore also participated in various events conducted by the various colleges in and around Mangalore and also in Bangalore. The department has won several prizes in the various events.

Shree Devi Institute of Technology, Mangalore conducted annual national level technical fest ‘Medha-13’ on recently. The fest comprised of 10 events under PG category namely: research paper, web designing, coding, sql dubitare, IT quiz, cyber hunt, application development, mad ad, photo-video editing and cultural-variety show. 3 teams from the department of computer applications of SJEC participated and one team ended up being runners up.

St Aloysius College, Beeri, Mangalore, conducted annual national level technical fest ‘Epitome XIII’ on recently. The fest comprised of 10 events namely: mobile app development, web designing, coding, IT quiz, gaming, application development, Mad Ad, project presentation (hardware), business idea presentation and cultural-variety show. A team consisting of 12 students (IV Semester) from the department of computer applications of SJEC participated and won overall champions.

Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore also conducted an annual national level technical fest ‘Shells’ recently. The fest comprised of 12 events namely: ice breaker, lecture contest, mad ad, image and video editing, web designing, coding, software launch, toggle talk and jam, IT quiz, dumb charades and best manager, creative direction. A team consisting of 12 students (IV Semester) from the department of computer applications of SJEC participated and bagged the overall runners up.

At NMAM Institute of Technology, Mangalore three teams from the department of computer applications of SJEC participated and one team won the overall runners up. The annual South Indian level technical fest ‘Semaphore-13’ comprised of 12 events namely: ice breaker, paper presentation, Mad Ad, image & video editing, web designing, coding, app development, treasure hunt, toggle Talk and JAM, IT quiz, cultural and best manager.

The management and staff of St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore congratulated all the participants and winners.
