Kasargod, Apr 13: In an incident which occurred at Chemnad Aninhi in the district on the evening of Thursday April 11, an aged man lost both his ears, after his children, who were angry at their father for not giving money to them as demanded, severed them.

Muttu Nair (80) from the village was approached for money by his two children, Rajan and Prakashan, for buying liquor. As Nair refused to budge from his decision not to give them money to satiate their liquor addiction, both of them in a fit of rage, cut off the ears with a blade, the old man said.

Nair was provided shelter in the old age home at Paravanadka after providing treatment. Both Rajan and Prakashan, against whom a case was registered in the town police station here, have gone missing.
