Mangalore: National level HR conference held at Roshni Nilaya

Mangalore, Apr 13: "Human resources are essential; MSW is a subject which gives practical experience on handling  human resources and studying its eminence. In the present materialistic world there arises lot labor disputes, crises in the organizations but HR has a major role in managing the crises," said P Tamilvanan, chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust in his address at the National level HR conference held at Roshni Nilaya on April 12.

The conference had the theme -‘Building Human Capital’-Engaging, Leading and Transformation Organization Through People, which was organized by the Roshni Nilaya school of social work in association with National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mangalore chapter.

He continued and said "human capital is an essential factor for production, the increase in human capital leads to better transformation and productivity. Land, labor, enterprise and capital are four important factors of productivity." 

"Education, health and moral values are key ingredients to build the human tesource. Education is a basic component, skills in different fields, technical aspects; devotion to work are necessary for the betterment of human resources in the nation. Aprropriate health conditions are essential for the growing population, with good health individuals can contribute a lot as resources to the state. The individual should also imbibe moral values, as it will help to complete transformation," he said.

"Today Indians are successful around the world because of their dedication and hard work,  exports of goods are also increasing which is due to human labour. 75% of the CEO population are Indians in different firms who came to attend the CEO conference held at Singapore recently. Life style and the standard of living of individuals has also changed. Firms, companies are choosing only elligible candidates. Leadership is also an important aspect; leaders should be a role model and initiate the people. HR manager should build confidence, motivate and train the individual; through this the transformation is possible.   

Fr Oswald Mascarenhas, chairman of St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology was the guest of honor and addressed the audience saying "the present education system has the concept of reward and punishment which is a complete failure. Students should contribute by learning new concepts  and exploring new subjects. No one should be forced to learn instead they should be willing to scale new heights. The concept of memorizing the subjects and and merely writing in exams without any thought process is a waste, instead an individual must read more to gain knowledge. Reading about the great thinkers and philosophers helps us to imbibe their qualities within us."

Dr Sophia N Fernandez presided on this occasion. U Shekar Poojary, chairman of NIPM, Mangalore chapter, Dr Sebastian KV were also present on this occasion.

Anil Gandhi welcomed the the attendees and the work of Dr Jenis Mary was released on this occasion.
