7.8-magnitude quake hits Iran-Pakistan border


Islamabad, April 16 (IANS): An earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale jolted Iran-Pakistan border region Tuesday, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicentre was at a depth of 15.20 km, reported Xinhua.

Strong tremors were felt in parts of Pakistan's southern Sindh and southwest Balochistan provinces, while light tremors were also felt in eastern Punjab and northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces Tuesday afternoon, TV channel Geo reported.
