Udupi: Knocked down by bike, woman loses life

Udupi, Apr 18: A woman who was walking on the footpath by the side of the highway at Kodankoor-Nittoor near here was knocked down by a motor bike on Tuesday April 16 evening. As she suffered serious head injury due to the impact of the fall, the pedestrian breathed her last in a private hospital the same night.

The victim has been identified as Bhageerathi (74), wife of Panduranga Kekuda from Nittoor-Kodankoor. She was walking on the footpath in an area in her neighbourhood, when a motor bike coming from the direction of the town hit her. She was rushed to a private hospital immediately. She could not be saved because of the severity of her head injuries, it is learnt.

A case relating to the incident stands registered in the town police station here.
