Bantwal, Apr 19: The policemen of Vittal station arrested three persons on the charge of following a person with the intent of murdering him because of past enmity. The arrests were made on Wednesday April 17.

The arrested men have been identified as Rajesh, Kadmadka Krishnappa Poojary, and Jagadish. The three allegedly tried to assault a man named Mani Jagga alias Jagadish Jain on Wednesday night. Jain was an accused in a case relating to the murder of Rowdy Shiva several years ago, and the court had recently absolved him of the charges. It is said that a person named Hansaraj Jain, who had a grouse against Jagadish Jain in relation with the above case, had abetted the assault with the intention of murder.

Jagadish was coming to Mani from Kalladka in a motor bike, when he noticed that a gang of three was following him in an auto rickshaw. He tipped his friends about the incident, immediately after reaching Mani. They then conducted an extensive search for the auto rickshaw, and found the vehicle parked at Haleera near Mani. The accused, who were trying to flee from the spot, were arrested with the cooperation of the locals, it is reported.

On a complaint filed by Jagadish Jain in this connection, a case stands registered in Vittal police station.
