Kundapur: Short circuit at textile shop; loss estimated around Rs 2 lac

Kundapur, May 2: A textile shop was gutted in a fire after a sudden short circuit occured in the inverter at 'Selection Centre' cloth shore, located at Devikiran Complex in Kota on the night of Monday April 29.

As a result, clothes and other valuables were burnt with the loss estimated at about Rs 2 lac.

According to reports, the shop was owned by one Vijay Bahadoor of Uttar Pradesh. It usually closed around 8.30 pm everyday. There were three employees who worked for the textile shop. On Monday, the employees left the shop at 9 pm as there were many customers.

Around 10 pm, the locals noticed flames coming out of the shop. Immediately,  the locals informed the police and fire department. In less than 30 minutes, the fire was successfully diffused.

However, along with the clothes, valuables such as the computer, inverter, UPS, two tables, and a battery were burnt.

Policemen from Kota station too arrived at the spot.
