North Korea sentences US citizen to compulsory labour


Pyongyang, May 2 (IANS): A US citizen has been sentenced to 15 years of compulsory labour by North Korea's Supreme Court, the official KCNA news agency said Thursday.

Pae Jun Ho was arrested while "committing hostile acts against" North Korea after entering Rason city as a tourist last Nov 3, it said.

During the preliminary inquiry, Pae "admitted that he committed crimes aimed to topple (North Korea) with hostility toward it".

His crimes were "proved by evidence", Xinhua reported, citing KCNA.
