Changes in draft report made on suggestions of Law Min, AG:CBI to SC

New Delhi, May 6 (PTI): The CBI Director today admitted before the Supreme Court that certain changes were made in the coalgate draft report on suggestions given by Union Law Minister Ashwani Kumar, Attorney General G E Vanahvati and the officials of PMO and Coal Ministry.

In its nine-page affidavit, CBI chief Ranjit Sinha gave details of the meetings which took place between the officials of the probe agency, the Law Minister, AG, then Additional Solicitor General Harin Raval and officials of PMO and Coal Ministry.

The submission made by Sinha contradicts the stand taken by the Law Minister and AG, who had refuted the allegation that they had suggested changes in the draft report.

The affidavit said the changes made in the draft report on the suggestion of the Law Minister and Vanahvati have "neither altered the report nor shifted the focus of inquiries in any manner".

Sinha also said that "no names of suspects or accused were removed from the status report and also that no suspect or accused was let off in the process."

"Majority of these changes were done by my officers in order to refine the report either on their own or in consultation with the ASG (Raval) and his assisting advocate or by Law minister. Besides, a few changes were also done on the suggestion of AG and officials of PMO and Coal Ministry," Sinha said.

The Director, however, said, "It is difficult at this stage to attribute each change to a particular person with certainty."

First there is corruption and then there is altering of the report. Disgusting. Government will just try to protect the law minister and other chors. Public should unite with Arvind Kejriwal and start agitation in front of Loksabha. We don't want corrupt ministers and babu's. CBI need to tell Indians what are the changes made in the report so that all will know about high level corruption in our country.

This is not the first case where CBI has got its investigation report vetted by Law Minister or Home Minister or PMO. Every time where the CBI investigation involves politicians, the investigation report is vetted by Law Minster or HM or PMO.
So, Supreme Court Should ask CBI to come out with the truth whether all their earlier Investigation Reports concerning scandals of Politicians were ' Vetted ' by Law Minister or PMO, atleast during last 10 years.

Similarly, at State Level all the investigation Reports of CCB/CID/COD is vetted by Chief Minister or Home Minister of Concerned State. See what was the fate of CID investigation of our Karwar / Belikeri Iron Ore Theft Case. Main culprits had got clean Chit.

So, there are two things clear to everybody now. First one is, there was a scam while allocating Coal and secondly Congress did interfere in CBI’s day-to-day business. But yet Congress sticks to their gun as usual without sacking all concerned personnel including Law Minister. Dear Congi Supporters, you might have noticed the moral responsibility of Congress vs. BJP. Yeddy was sacked just because his name was mentioned in the Lokayukta report even though it is not proved yet but nothing happened to others including Lad Brothers moreover they have been given MLA Seats too. Had they not sacked Yeddy from CM Post, I think Congress never gained any Seats in Karnataka forever

If Ballary Reddys were in Congress then the CBI would have been pressurized by Law Minister to change their report even on illegal mining and allow Rowdy-Reddys to escape the dragnet.
