Muscat, May 12: The countdown has begun for Spandana’s much awaited mega musical event “Raag Anuraag” which is expected to cast an awesome spell on Muscat music lovers.
Music lovers can witness a scintillating and homogenous confluence of different genres of music in " Raag Anuraag " (Tune with Passion), the forthcoming musical event slated for Thursday May 16, at The Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel, Muscat. Gates open at 6.30 pm and program starts at 7.30 pm. The show will be a free to all with entry passes. Invitations are available for distribution at Hot Pot Restaurant, Darseit between 7 to 8 pm on Thursday, May 9 on first-come-first-serve basis.
This melodious presentation will be a fusion of music and melody by two highly acclaimed and versatile singers, Suneeta Acharya and Sreenath Bharadwaj. They have enthralled audiences with their repertoire of Bhava Geethe, Bhakti Geethe, Janapada Geethe and evergreen film songs in various languages. Accompanying the singer duo are the equally, well versed group of musicians comprising of Deepa Jayasheela (on Keyboard), Rajesh Bhagavath (on Tabla), Prakash Antony (on Drums and Thythm Pad), Sathish (on Saxophone), Lokesh (on Flute) and Sharath and Robert (on Guitar).
Both Suneeta Acharya and Sreenath Bharadwaj need no introduction as they regularly perform in famous TV channels like Zee TV, (Kannada) Chandana TV, Spandana TV, and Doordarshan. Suneeta Acharya, the female artiste, is not only gifted and a multi talented vocalist, she is also proficient in playing instruments like veena, keyboard and dholak. Sreenath is bestowed with the achievement of music direction for Bhakti Geethe apart from playback singing.
This time the master of ceremony (MC) will be Om Ganesh, who is a multi-faceted personality. Om Ganesh is a famous magician, Kannada film actor, writer, musician, table player, event organizer, shadow artist and all in all a pocket sized power house, who will be anchoring the show “Raag Anuraag” with his magical skills.
Om Ganesh has performed in more than 3000 shows all around the world. He had acted in a number of Kannada films, the most famous being Anamika, Anathara Avvantara, Manmatha Raja and Avale Nanna Hendthi. His new invention is 'Shadow Play' - ten fingers hundred shadow figures which has won the hearts of millions of spectators all over the world. Om Ganesh has also written and released three books, viz. Jagdolgina Jaadu, Jaadugarana Journy and Konkani book Taanni Thashshi Aammi Ashshi. The Magic Kit that he produced now has a worldwide market. With this kit he has already travelled around 40 countries

Spandana Muscat is gratified to present Raag Anuraag this year on May 16th, 2013 after their successful musical treats "Sangeetha Lahari" and "Yaadon Ki Baarat" in 2011 and 2012 respectively combined with a spectacular Yakshagana Ballet.
"Raag Anuraag", the muscal convergence of these renowned artistes will be presented in an aesthetically lit setting, which will be a unique endeavor by Spandana Muscat. Apart from musical treats, Spandana Muscat is also involved in certain humanitarian and social services, like the recently concluded Blood Donation Drive which had about 150 participants.
As announced earlier, it will be a wholesome entertainment and the Organizers expect a full house audience witnessing this mega musical extravaganza.
