Kasargod: Police find 52 kg ganja hidden in car roof, arrest two

Kasargod, May 14: Kasargod town police on Monday May 13 night seized around 52 kg of ganja and arrested two persons.
The arrested are K A Nawaz (32), a resident of Kottayam, and C H Saleem (32) of Neeleshwar.
They were caught while trying to transport the ganja in a Tata Sumo.
Based on prior information, the police team led by circle inspector K Sunil Kumar intercepted the Sumo and investigated.
On thorough inspection of the vehicle, it was revealed that a special compartment had been made on the roof of the Sumo and the ganja had been hidden inside.
During interrogation, the duo admitted that they were transporting the ganja from Kottayam to Uppala.
The operation was carried out based on reliable information received by Kasargod DySP P Mohanchandran Nair.
Over the past two months, a whopping two quintals of ganja has been seized in the district. The police are putting in extra efforts to nab culprits in the wake of increasing drug menace in the region.
