Cash van guard hurts himself in accidental firing


New Delhi, May 21 (IANS): A cash van guard suffered a bullet injury in an accidental fire from his single barrel gun here Monday evening, police said.

Umesh Singh, 48, resident of east Delhi's Usmanpur, was wounded by a bullet fired by his own gun near HDFC Bank's ATM in old Delhi's Chandni Chowk area around 5.30 p.m., police said.

"Singh, along with the driver, was sitting inside a cash van parked near the ATM when the bullet was fired, injuring his shoulder," said a police officer.

He was admitted to hospital for treatment, he said.
