Kasargod, Jan 2: In a fire which broke out in a firecracker factory at Arikkady, Kumble on Sunday Irshad (19), son of Ibrahim from Arikkady and Sanjeev (20) from Badiyadka were killed. Shareef, Arikkady, who sustained serious injuries in the incident, has been admitted to a hospital in Mangalore.
The factory belongs to late Mohammad from Tipu Nagar, Arikkady. The dead bodies were completely burnt in the accident and the concrete building has been damaged.
Police and firefighters carried out rescue operations. District police superintendent T Srishukan, deputy superintendent of police Abdul Gafoor and circle inspector of police, Kumble K Ashraf visited the spot.
