Mangalore, Jan 2: ‘Challenges in the new millennium’, a state-level seminar highlighting the various challenges the teachers faced in the new millennium, will be organized by St Aloysius Evening College on Friday January 6 at 9.30 am at A V Room in St Aloysius College.

Ananthakrishna, chairman, Karnataka Bank, will inaugurate the seminar, while Fr Francis Serrao, rector, St Aloysius Institutions, will preside. Dr Aloysius Sequeira, NITK registrar, will preside over the valedictory function and former state high court judge Justice M F Saldanha will be the chief guest.

Among the topics to be discussed during the seminar are: ‘Role of teachers in higher education: Prospects and challenges’, ‘Disaster management’, Investor education and investor protection’, and ‘Intellectual property rights: Emerging challenges’.

Dr B K Shivaprasad Rai, Dakshina Kannada Home Guards Commandant, will present a demonstration on the management of any calamity.

The director of Collegiate Education in Bangalore has sanctioned OOD facility for teachers participating in the seminar.
