Bantwal, Jan 3: Narayan Kulal, son of Shivappa Moolya of Ponnamar near Vittal here ended his life by hanging himself in the early hours of Sunday January 1.

Narayana Moolya was a science teacher in Bilantimugera Primary School for the last 8 years.  He had married Jayalakshmi, a staff nurse at Aladangadi Primary Health Centre on December 26.  After the marriage as per the local customs, the bride had gone to her parental house on Thursday December 29.  Accordingly she was to be brought home on Sunday January 1.

On Saturday night Narayan had slept in the house after having the dinner along with his mother, nephew Ganesh, sister-in-law Gulabi.  However, he had got up in the early hours of Sunday and gone out.  Family members presumed that he had gone to answer nature's call.  But when he did not return for long, they tried searching him and to their shock, they found him hanging from the pulley of the well.

So far no reason is known for his sudden suicide.  The Vittal police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
