It's official : JD(U)'s alliance with BJP is over

Patna, Jun 16 (Agencies) : The JD(U) on Sunday formally announced the split of its 17-year-old ties with the BJP in Bihar and walked out of the NDA.

Addressing a news conference with Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar in Patna, JD(U) president Sharad Yadav announced his resignation as NDA convener.

Since there was divergence of opinion on basic issues, we decided to part ways, Sharad Yadav said justifying the decision to end the alliance.

We wanted the alliance to continue, but could not compromise on fundamental issues, Nitish Kumar said.

The Bihar chief minister has announced that he will seek a vote of confidence on the floor of assembly on June 19.

Nitish Kumar also announced that he had recommended the removal of 11 BJP ministers from his government to the governor, as they had refused to attend to their duties.

I can't see how BJP ministers can stay within the ministry and can't work, Nitish Kumar said, adding, despite several requests the BJP ministers refused to return to work.

When they did not attend the cabinet meeting on Sunday, we decided to seek a trust vote on the floor, the Bihar chief minister said.

Dear Brother Poojary first Nitish Kumar should resign as the chief minister on moral grounds , He was elected as head of the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) in Bihar when he was made the chief minister. Now he is no more an NDA leader, he has no moral right to continue the post. "He should resign first , then get elected as JD-U chief for the chief minister's post, then go to the governor,".. sure 50 % of JD-U leaders will join BJP wait and watch.....he has become YEDDI of Karnataka....YEDDI also returning back to BJP with MODI support but NITISH is eyeing minority vote bank to save his JD-U Party.

It was for the Charisma of great Shri. A.B. Vajapayee.
He is a Gandhian of his own kind legend of peace and harmony.
He had great ability to make inroads in secular world.
It is beyond our comparison, the efforts he has made to maintain peace among all communities.
During Nawaz Sharif, Musharraf refused to salute P.M. Vajapayee, saying he is Hindu bigot.
But,Shri. A.B. Vajapayee, went higher, forgave Musharraf and extended hand of friendship to a weaker nation.
Musharraf had to swallow his own statement, and described VAJAPAYEE a great man of peace!
Shri.Vajapayee could turn bad into good, whereas some turn good into bad!

Valerian Dsouzaji, its a political game. People cite Vajapayee as the reason but behind the screen BJP's number was the reason (I would say desire for power). Same people like Nitish who came out cite development as the reason and join hands with Modi. Behind the scene BJPs number and desire for power would is the reason. Same Nitish was enjoying power even after 2002 riots. Now he came out becasue he believes he can score more seats in Bihar and try his luck in 2014 as Mamata and DMK did. Political leaders can change colors and words as per the situation.

Nitheesh has given virtually a lifeline to corrupt ailing congress. Only agenda is to come to power independently in Bihar and nothing else.Indeed Modi is communal. However in case of Nitheesh Modi is just excuse. If Modi was the reason why did accept Modi for 17Years? In fact Advani was also involved In Babri. Why Did he accept Advani then?. Now Sharad Yadav president of Jd(u) will lose his chance to become cabinet minister in future NDA goverment unless he joins BJP now. All in all wish both this Communal NDA and corrupt Congress are eliminated somehow.

Masterstroke by JD(U). Bihar, with nearly 20% minority population is a crucial State. It is now certain BJP will be marginalised in Bihar similar to UP. Bengal with significant minority population and Trinamul & communist dominating, is out of bound for BJP. No presence of saffron party in South except some pockets in Karnataka where it got routed recently. Same with northeast, no presence. With Modi's elevation, it is now certain that UPA III will come to power in 2014. Poll arithmetic simply wont add up for Modi with his remote controller being at Nagpur

Regional leaders are favourite only in their region

The great disintegration of the BJP has begun. It is now in the throes of a slow death. The final oxygen supply will be pulled out by the voters in mid 2014. Great news indeed for the chai lovers in Ahmadabad.
