Mamata asks why another union cabinet reshuffle


Kolkata, June 17 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Monday questioned "yet another" cabinet reshuffle of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the centre.

"I am surprised to know that UPA-II has made yet another cabinet reshuffle today. So how many times, in the last four years, UPA-II Government has reshuffled the cabinet," said Banerjee.

"After Trinamool, how many times has the minister for railways changed in the last 8-9 months? What is the message from this Cabinet reshuffle," added Banerjee.

Eight minister, mostly Congress party veterans, were inducted into Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's ministerial council Monday in possibly the last rejig before the 2014 general elections.
