Mangalore, Jan 12: A person was killed owing to the sheer negligence by the bus staff at Nagori in National Highway 48 here on Wednesday January 11 afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Dan Bahadoor (40), a native of Nepal. He was travelling by a city bus. When his stop came, he stood on the footboard of the front door to alight. Though the bus stopped for a while, it moved even before he could alight. As a result, he fell on the road. Before he could recover, bus ran over him. Having got crushed under the back wheel, he sustained serious injuries.
Though he was rushed to the hospital immediately, he succumbed to the injuries half the way. A complaint has been filed against accused bus driver Kishor and conductor Nagesh in this regard in the Kankanady police station.
