J&K announces relief for Uttarakhand, Himachal victims


Srinagar, Jun 21 (IANS): The Jammu and Kashmir cabinet Friday expressed sympathy with the victims of landslides and flash floods in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, and announced a Rs.1 crore contribution towards relief and rehabilitation.

The state cabinet, meeting here Friday with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in chair, passed a resolution expressing sympathy and solidarity with the victims of landslides and floods in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

The donation from Jammu and Kashmir would go into the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
