10 tourists killed in Pakistan attack


Islamabad, Jun 23 (IANS): Ten tourists - nine foreigners and a Pakistani national - were killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in Pakistan's Gilgit Baltistan region early Sunday.

The incident, in which nine tourists from China, Ukraine, and Russia besides a Pakistani national were killed, occurred at Nanga Prabat tourist Base camp, Geo News reported.

Gilgit deputy inspector general Ali Sher said unidentified armed men attacked the Nanga Prabat tourist Base Camp at Fairy Meadow in Dayamar area around 1.00 a.m. and killed nine foreign tourists camped there.
