IAF MiG-29 crashes, pilot safe


New Delhi, Jun 24 (IANS): An Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-29 combat jet crashed in Gujarat Monday but the pilot ejected safely, an official statement said.

The aircraft, which was airborne from Jamnagar airbase on a routine flying training sortie, crashed at about 1.30 p.m. south of Khambalia in Gujarat, the statement said.

A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate into the accident, the statement added.
